Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to receive my print/painting?

Custom Paintings – Completion times can vary depending on my wait list. Without a wait list, please expect 3-4 days to complete a painting. If it needs to be shipped, expect to add an additional 4-5 business days to receive it.

Prints – I typically ship print orders off within 2 full business days.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I take payments via PayPal, Venmo, cash, personal check or money order by mail. Whichever is easiest for you!

What kind of medium do you use?

All paintings are done with watercolor paints and water-based inks on acid free 300g cold press watercolor paper. Matted with buffered acid-free white core matboards and backing, and delivered in clear bags for protection.

What kind of pictures should I send of my pet?

The pictures MUST be clear, full-size images (not pixelated or cropped as a square like done on Instagram) and the subject should look how you would want them in the painting. Also, send photos that best represent their personality. Below are some examples of good images to send.

Can you paint any kind of animal?

Yes. I do not only paint cats and dogs, I would love the opportunity to paint various kinds of animals!

Do you do custom portraits of people as well?

I am not currently taking on custom portraits of people.

Do you offer other matte colors besides white?

I can certainly run to the art store and let you know what they have in stock if you prefer another color other than white. However, because I buy the white mattes in bulk, it will be $7-10 extra for another color as I will have to buy it individually. Please let me know on the initial Custom Portrait Inquiry form if you might prefer another color.

Can I get a cusotm portrait without the matte?

The painting can be packaged and delivered without the matte upon request, but please keep in mind that matting and framing needs to be acid-free and done properly to preserve the painting as the paper can change over time depending on what kind of environment it is in. It will also be the same price regardless if you are getting the matting or not to keep the prices uniform.

What is your favorite subject/style to paint?

I love drawing people in graphite pencil, but absolutely LOVE painting animals and my favorite style is what I call “Artistic Fun” with paint splatter, water drips, straw blown techniques, fun vibrant colors, etc. I feel that this style allows me to be most expressive as an artist and have a lot of fun with it!

What if I am not satisfied with my painting?

Custom Painting – I will always do my best to create a piece that is up to par with your expectations, but I understand that there is always a chance it might not be exactly what you were hoping for. In this case, if you are not satisfied with your painting when I present the initial “Reveal” (Step 5), I will refund you 100% of the payment, and the painting will remain with me. I do NOT issue refunds once the painting is shipped and/or delivered.

Prints – I do not currently accept refunds, exchanges, or cancellations for prints unless they arrive damaged or defective.

What if my painting/print arrives damaged?

Custom Pet Paintings – I always do my best to package the paintings as securely as possible, but accidents can happen during shipment. Unfortunately, I cannot issue refunds for commissioned pieces damaged during shipping, however, I can help submit a claim to the carrier. I can also order giclee fine art prints on Somerset Velvet paper which have a look and feel similar to watercolor and like the original.

Prints – If your print arrives damaged, please email me a picture of the damage to the print and the mailer/envelope it was shipped in within 7 business days of when you received it. Once I have reviewed it, I will give you instructions of how to ship it back to me and once I receive the damaged print I will ship you a replacement.
